Crude oil extraction

Lurgi is one of the pioneers in raw oil extraction, beginning in 1940 and patenting their technology in 1957.
Lurgi’s extraction technology offers a complete process solution and provides the most advanced equipment, including:

Extractor

with double-pass and shallow bed, enabling good meal distribution and large contact surface for optimal percolation

DTDC

different from similar technologies in the sense of a unique agitator shaft design that ensures zero axial force

Miscella distillation

highly efficient falling film evaporator, achieving a miscella concentration of over 90%, thanks to the optimized heat exchange and recovery

Hexane recovery

reduces residual hexane in raw oil to less than 50 ppm by using steam, before sending the oil to storage

Oleochemicals production

JJ-Lurgi is a leading supplier of oleochemical technology worldwide. Lurgi’s technological advancements have significantly contributed to the growth of the oleochemical market. These are key intermediate products used across various industries, elevating the entire oil production sector.

Fatty acids production

starting from oils and fats, involves different processes, like hydrolysis, hydrogenation, distillation and fractionation. Lurgi hydrolysis process is done at around 55 barg and 250 C and its degree of fractionation is almost 99%

Fatty alcohol production

Also includes hydrolysis, but the process continues to distillation, fractionation, estherification, hydrogenation and it finishes with distillation and carbonyl conversion. Extremely innovative processes, characterized by low operating pressure and low quantity of impurities (because the inlet material is in liquid phase), and very optimized catalyst change which enables a long, continual reactor operation
